Tunnelblick where is the console log

Clicking "VPN Details…" messes up if there are no configurations to be detailed. I'll should be able to fix that for the next release. So, remove those characters, first. Then create a new. Them characters don't appear in the configuration file, I have followed the link you sent - but i'm still getting the same message. Is there anyway I can send you my configuration file for checking that its correct?

This problem was solved in a private email exchange. The problem was that there were garbage characters at the start of the configuration file. For some reason, they do not show up when editing the file in TextEdit, so it looked like they weren't there, but they were. To remove them, I copied the rest of the file after the initial ";" , deleted the entire contents of the file, did a paste, then added back the initial ";" that I had not copied.

We monitor access to the Tunnelblick website from 15 networks distributed around the world, so the most likely explanation is a problem with your Internet connection. Can you reach the Tunnelblick website in a browser? Can you reach the "IP checking" page? The response should be en empty page that just shows something like Can you connect your VPN ignoring the warning and then reach those two pages? If so, that would tend to support the idea that it is a problem with your Internet access.

Hi jkbullard , I tried. HI jkbullard , By the way ,we're in China, as some of my colleges can use the VPN, so i guess there's nothing with the location right?

I think it is a location problem. I think the "Great Firewall" is blocking your access to tunnelblick. Something is blocking it, anyway. Perhaps your colleagues are using a different network to access it, or are using different DNS resolvers.

So I suggest that you remove the check from the "Check if apparent public IP address changed after connecting" box on the "Settings" tab of the "Configurations" panel of Tunnelblick's "VPN Details" window. Be sure to select the configuration s you wish the change to apply to before removing the check. Hi jkbullard , I will try it. Thanks for your help and quick response. Thanks jkbullard. Star 2. New issue. Jump to bottom. Linked pull requests. Copy link. Reinstall Tunnelblick from the. Click on the Tunnelblick icon at the top of the display. Look at lines near the end of the log for an error message. A connection is established, but drops out or is restarted after a few seconds or minutes, or DNS stops working after a few minutes This can have several causes: Another computer on your network is attempting to connect to the VPN using the same credentials.

You don't have "Monitor connection" checked. Often a DHCP-supplied server will only respond to queries which originate within that network. Put a check next to "Monitor network". An error message says "You have tried to connect using a configuration file that is the same as the sample configuration file installed by Tunnelblick" This means that you have tried to connect to a VPN without setting up a configuration file.

It can be caused by the following sequence in the configuration file: dev-type tun dev abcdefg and a workaround is to replace both lines with the single line dev tun substitute "tap" for "tun" in the above if this is a Tap configuration.

It can be caused by extra Tun or Tap system extensions being loaded. See the following entry. An error message says "Tunnelblick was not able to load a device driver kext that is needed to connect An OpenVPN log entry says "script failed: could not execute external program" An up or down script contains an error.

The use of a script file that does not have execute permission for root. The use of a script file with syntax errors. Cannot Empty the Trash If you dragged an old copy of Tunnelblick to the Trash and now cannot empty the Trash and because Finder complains that something is "in use" probably something named Sparkle. Trash sudo find.
